Sortly Alternative for Home Inventory

Sortly is genuinely good software. It's also business software, with business pricing. If you're cataloging a garage instead of a warehouse, here's the home-sized alternative, plus a one-click path for your existing Sortly data.

Where Sortly stops making sense for homes

Sortly built its product for small-business stockrooms, and it shows in the pricing: the free tier caps around 100 items, and paid plans start near $29 a month billed annually (about $49 month-to-month). For a business tracking sellable stock, that's reasonable. For a household documenting belongings, that's $350 a year to know what's in your attic. Cataloging is manual too: you type names and details for every item, since there's no AI to read your photos.

Switch in 3 steps (your data comes with you)

  1. Export from Sortly. Use the export option in your Sortly account to download your inventory as a CSV file.
  2. Import into StowFindSell. Go to All Items, click Import CSV, and choose the file. Names, locations, quantities, values, and tags map automatically, and any locations Sortly knew about get created for you.
  3. Add photos when you feel like it. Every imported item is live immediately. Snap photos over time and AI Vision fills in categories, descriptions, and value estimates from the pictures.

What changes day to day

StowFindSell is an AI home inventory app, so the tedious part flips: instead of typing every item, you photograph it and review what the AI wrote. QR bin labels and insurance exports come standard here too (our Proof Pack PDF adds photos and documentation grades an adjuster can actually use), and on top of that you gain the things a home actually needs: a garage sale hub with AI pricing for your zip code, a buyer inbox that keeps your email private, and an AI Concierge that coaches you through decluttering with methods like KonMari and the Four Box Method. Home plans run free to $19.99/mo (pricing), and our full app comparison stacks up all the current options if you're still deciding.
